The sea is an alien realm we can enter only briefly, filled with creatures we have only begun to study. Over the last few decades, a number of people have devoted their lives to solving its mysteries and witnessing its special events. Among them is diver, naturalist and cinematographer Feodor Pitcairn, who has carried advanced photographic and video equipment – including High-Definition cameras – into the deep to capture the most accurate and vivid images possible of a world most of us will never see.
