The penultimate show to be screened on BBC1 in 1969 was this one off special, "Pop Go The Sixties." It was a co production with German TV company ZDF but made in London in the BBC Television Centre studios. It seems a rather fitting choice of programme for the end of the Sixties which of course had been the most dynamic, exciting and revolutionary era ever seen in music and cultural history. It was certainly a more fitting offering than what Independent TV screened as their final music show of the decade - "The Tennessee Ernie Ford Show" with special guests Harry Secombe and The Monkees' Davy Jones.
