Iguana chronicles a pivotal thirty-six hour period in the life of Arkin, a twelve year-old expat boy living in an emotionally abusive household in Singapore. Raised by a father who fosters a tradition of violence, Arkin struggles to break free of the cycle despite schoolyard fistfights, intolerance, domestic violence, and the killing of a large iguana by his brother. After being pushed to his breaking point by his family, Arkin is forced to decide whether to enter the cycle of violence or reject it forever.
