The best of friends, Jill and Joy, are two ordinary little girls, maybe just a little bit happier than most because they have the fabulous opportunity to live alone in their own house. One evening in December a very small,shoe box sized car, appears in their yard. Out of it rises the tiny Vaaksanheimon family. Vaaksanheimot have been left homeless because the road roller has destroyed their home. They move temporarily into Onnelin's and Anneli's doll home.It soon becomes clear that all the big people do not have good intentions with respect to Vaaksanheimojen.
