Set in 1920, at the height of the Anglo-Irish war, Michael Collins' squad member Jimmy Mahon is given an intelligence role while Ursula Sweeney a code-breaker with British intelligence, contemplates treason, but what could be her motivation for taking such a risk?In a grand Dublin mansion, a number of men, including Michael Collins, gather for a sessionof the Dail.Hostess Constance Butler welcomes them to her home. Collins justifies the ongoing terrorist war against the British occupying force as Arthur Griffith (Andrew Bennett) argues for peaceful negotiation. Maurice Jacobs (Fergal McElherron), a Dublin Solicitor, warns Eithne not to take notes on divided government. The session is interrupted when Captain McLeod leads a raid on the Butler residence.In her role at the Bulletin, Eithne is encouraged to show English journalist and socialist sympathiser Robbie Lennox (Ben Smith) around Ireland's 'Sinn Fein institutions. Can he be trusted?Having been identified, Jimmy is reluctantly relieved of his duties on the Assassination Squad, given a suit and a pseudonym, and promoted to a role as Intelligence gatherer.
