Audiences meet Funani, a river hippo who welcomes a new addition to the family; Omeo, an orphaned koala joey; and the team's journey to the Reteti Elephant Sanctuary in Kenya to help develop an innovative milk formula for elephant calves who do not have mothers. Other stories this season will include a pair of lappet-faced vultures who produce the zoo's first fertile egg for the species; wallaby Thelma and her joey Everest who become ambassador animals; and even a few koalas Puck, Ra, and Laksmi who are nursed back to health after being saved from the bushfires.
