Romania finished top of their qualifying group ahead of the likes of Switzerland and Israel to make it to this tournament, and are playing in the finals for the first time since 2016. They endured a dismal campaign in France, finishing bottom of a group that featured Switzerland, Albania and the host nation, picking up just one point from a possible nine. Their opponents today made it through to the finals thanks to Chelsea attacker Mykhailo Mudryk's 84th-minute winner, as they came from behind to beat Iceland 2-1 in a play-off final. Three years ago, they reached the quarter-finals before they were thoroughly outplayed in a 4-0 defeat to England in Rome, and will fancy their chances again in a group that also features Belgium and Slovakia.
